We left Durant Sunday afternoon to head back home. We saw some storm clouds in the distance but didn’t think much about them until we were met at the highway with a multiple fatality accident blocking the highway and rerouting all traffic back north. Rather than sitting in the traffic and dealing with the storm, we came back to my Aunts house. It has been a great time talking to Angie and sharing stories. This is the first time she has met and spent time with Chelsea and they seem to be hitting it off nicely.

We are excited to come back and spend time with her again soon.

I love you Angie. You are the sweetest person I know. – Michael

Update… We made it home around 8:30 Sunday night. The storms had passed, and traffic had died down enough that we could detour around it.

This was an interesting end to an interesting week.

We will be leaving Canada soon and making the long trip home. It is always a bittersweet time leaving Canada. Leaving family is hard. We wish that we were closer so we can spend time with them and help them with the things they need.

We enjoyed doing yard work with Grandma this week. Michael mowed her yard with grandma’s Electric Stihl mower. He enjoyed it so much that he is considering getting one for home. Chelsea cleaned up her flower beds and made them pretty again. We also helped get rid of some stuff from grandma’s garage to help make room for more stuff we will help get rid of later.

We are excited to be back to the comforts of home. Back to normalcy, work, and abundant food choices of which Thunder Bay is seriously lacking in.

We will take our time coming home. Leaving late Friday and headed to Minneapolis Minnesota and then stopping around Kansas Saturday night. Sunday, we will swing by Michael’s aunts house to help with some computer stuff left behind by Michael’s Uncles passing.

Frisco, here we come. Let’s hope the storms are done so we can come back to Sunshine and a clean home.

Hello, This is my first blog post. I thought I would start with some thoughts about this website and what I hope it will accomplish. With family living all over the world, I’m hoping that this will give everyone a place where they can feel connected with Chelsea and I as we take the next steps through our engagement, the wedding and our lives in general. We will post pictures of our major life events here, have a place to commemorate and memorialize our pets and anything else we think of along the way. We hope our family can use this to bridge the gap created by thousands of miles between us and them so they have a place they can go anytime, to see what’s new with us and leave a comment to let us know that they were here.

If you are here and reading this, I hope that this website creates a space for you like I’ve intended and that you feel closer to us because its here. If you are family, we love you, if you are a friend, we like you and if you are a stranger, comment below so I can block your IP.
